With Wuling cars selling like hotcakes in the global market, many automakers have rushed to launch similar products. Besides the Chery Little Ant, which debuted before the Hongguang Mini EV, models like the Changan BenBen EV have also entered the market, achieving impressive sales performances. What you might not know is that there’s an even more cost-effective mini EV — the BAW Brumby.

Recently, the BAW Brumby was introduced as a mini EV, with three configuration options priced between 39,800 to 56,900 yuan.

Built on the Beijing Automotive Manufacturing Starry Sky platform, it features a four-door, four-seat design. The overall style of the new car is compact and boxy, with a robust front face that retains the classic closed front grille typical of electric vehicles. The headlights adopt a popular split design, with the main beams combined in one unit below and turn signals positioned above.

The side profile is simple and straight, and the two-tone color scheme gives it a vibrant appearance. Future color options will be even more fashionable and colorful. Additionally, the floating roof design is a current trend. The new model will offer 13-inch wheels.

At the rear, the design continues with a boxy theme, and the rear bumper features some crossover elements. The tail lights are compact and square, integrated with LED lighting. A glossy black trim connects the tail lights, echoing the front end. In terms of dimensions, the new vehicle measures 3532 mm long, 1498 mm wide, and 1605 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2275 mm.

Depending on the configuration, the new car will offer either dual 7-inch or dual 10.25-inch display screens. Functionality includes navigation, mobile connectivity, Wi-Fi, voice interaction, Bluetooth, panoramic imaging, and air conditioning control, among other features.

In terms of power, the new car will be equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor that delivers a maximum power of 25 kW and a peak torque of 100 Nm. For the battery, it uses a lithium-ion battery and offers two versions with ranges of 122 km and 172 km (CLTC).
